When attempting to plan an order, issues can occasionally occur due to the
availability of products for sale. This can usually be identified as one of two issues
and can be sorted accordingly.
Delisted / Temporarily Unavailable
To keep our product range fresh, ensuring it matches our policies and to continue
to sell products all our customers enjoy, we undertake range reviews. This means
new products are added to the range and existing products are delisted. Once
a product has been delisted and the remaining existing stock is used up this
product is no longer able to be ordered by customers.
There can also be situations where products are unable to be produced for
long periods of time, this can be due to factors such as ingredient shortages
or product issues. Without the ability to produce more eventually we reach
the point where stock level hits zero, at which point the product will become
'Temporarily Unavailable' until the issue is rectified and more stock produced.
In these cases, before you can start making your selections you will see a warning
banner.
The system in place is designed to highlight an issue when you start your order.
These will be flagged in Red on your ordering menu. It will show where in your
menu the affected product(s) feature and a suggested substitute will be offered,
where possible.
If you have an affected product you must rectify in order to complete your order.
my.apetito will notify you of any affected products at the top of the screen, these
will be highlighted on your menu.
In this case there is a warning that the Chicken Kiev has been delisted and is
recommending the Chicken Goujons as a replacement product.
Click 'Replace' to immediately update your menu with the suggested alternative.
This is our recommended replacement based off nutritional information and
dietary codes. If you prefer to make your own selection, press the 'Bin' icon to
clear the existing product and replace it with a product of your choosing.
Please be aware that these alterations will permanently change your menu.
Out of Stock
Whilst we do run sales forecasts on all our products, there are occasions where
we sell more of a product than predicted and therefore this can result in a
product going out of stock ahead of its next production date.
If a product is 'unavailable' for the delivery day you have selected, the system will
highlight this at the top of the screen.
In this example, the system warns the customer the Twin portion is unavailable.
However it lets them know that the Multiportion is available to order. It also tells
the service user where to find the out of stock product on their menu.
If you scroll down on your menu to the place where this product features, you will
be able to see that the product is highlighted and you have one of two choices.
Click on the 'Remove or Replace' box and the system will present you with two
options. First you can press the Green highlighted box to remove the Multi/Twin
Portion from your selection and replace with the other. Please note this this only
works on the Multi/Twin dishes and if the alternative is also not out of stock.
Second option is to substitute the product with one of the suggested alternatives
by pressing the 'replace' button on one of the three options.
Please note that the original product will remain on your menu next time you
go to place an order.
